Association (MUYSA) Meeting Minutes
May. 4, 2004
Present: Don Morin, Ken Perregaux, Mark Fitzgerald, Mike Poe, Mark Murray, Sue Hamilton, Chris Wojtowicz, Mike Brodeur, Keith Jackson, Pete Bloznalis, Paul Moruzzi.
The Meeting was called to order at 7:26 PM.
The approval of the April Minutes was passed over until a future meeting.
Ken Perregaux, MUYSA President, reviewed the age group coordinators for the fall 2004 season as listed below:

There was a general discussion regarding U10 Travel soccer and the registration process that needs to be completed by July 1, 2004. It was decided that the U10 coordinator would develop communication (via email) between the U10 coaches and parents and decide to pursue this as opposed to a town run program. Ken Perregaux / Mike Poe (U10G) and Mike Brodeur / Val Sumner (U10B) will be in charge of this process and report back to the club with their decision.
There was a general discussion regarding registration and the website. Sue Hamilton agreed to put an updated registration form on the website. Don will get this updated form to her via Rob Walters.
Don Morin gave an update for Ed Mullarkey, Grover Field Coordinator. Installation of the electrical service for the irrigation system is forthcoming. Don is communicating with the Recreation Department with regards to alternative parking and access for the field. Don will report back to the club.
Mark Fitzgerald, MUYSA Secretary, made a motion to have the club purchase T-Shirts for all U6 & U7 participants in the Fall 2004 season. Don Morin seconded the motion. There was a general discussion that followed. The motion passed by majority vote.
Mark Murray, MUYSA Scholarship Committee Chairman, reported that scholarship applications for the graduating class had been received. It was noted that a Committee meeting would take place directly after the MUYSA meeting. There was a general discussion about the awarding of scholarships and timing constraints for graduation. Don Morin made a motion to empower the Scholarship Committee to award two (2) candidates for the MUYSA scholarships and to report back to the club at the next meeting. Ken Perregaux seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Don Morin made a motion to pay Rob Walters a fee of $500 for straightening out the fall 2003 database and resubmitting in to MYSA. Mark Fitzgerald seconded the motion. There was a general discussion that followed. The motion carried by majority vote.
Mike Brodeur expressed his concern over the possibility of losing the club’s database in the future and the process that would be put in place to prevent future cost to the club for reconstructing the database. Mike suggested that a separate archive be kept and that future safeguards be put in place. Mike Brodeur and Mark Murray will review the current situation and report back to the club with their recommendation.
There was a general discussion regarding the Annual Meeting in June and the need for additional volunteers to fill some expiring officer and coordinator’s positions namely, Treasurer, Secretary, Registrar, and MAYS Coordinator. This information has been posted on the website.
Mark Fitzgerald announced that a local resident and student at Worcester Academy, has volunteered his services to assist in coaching. Please see Mark for more details.
Mark Fitzgerald reminded all present that Gary Crompton’s Soccer 101 summer camp has been scheduled for the week of August 2-6 at Miscoe Hill School. Please find sign up information on our website at www.muysa.org. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on the link to Soccer 101 Camps. Registration forms can be obtained there.
The next MUYSA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 7:15 PM at the Rose Garden, Upton, MA.
